what are some great road trip suggestions, 2 kids 9,6. tampa to las vegas?

    Don’t do it!!!!!!! Just kidding…have plenty of games and maybe a portable dvd player to help them pass the time.

    rent an rv that way ur kids can move around a little bit u won’t have to stop for bathroom breaks and u can get snacks or make a meal whenever u want

    I’d say rent an rv or something. But if that’s not possible, bring games. Lots of them. If your kids are able to read in the car (I know some kids get motion sickness or whatever), bring books or drawing paper or something. Portable dvd players are always good. Just don’t forget the dvd’s or you won’t get anywhere. Keeps snacks in the car with you and don’t let them drink too much or you’ll be stopping for a bathroom every 100 miles (if you’re lucky). I’ve also heard of parents slipping their kids sleeping pills, but I think that’s downright despicable and advise you not to try it. Good luck.

    Something that I’ve had success with(wife & 3 daughters), is books on tape. Obviously its not something you can do the whole trip, but it will eat up a few hours. You’d be surprised how the kids get into a good story. Always go with short stories rather than a long novel. The short stories keep them guessing, wondering what the next one will be about. One of the ones my girls liked the most was collection of Poe short stories. Just look around for something that would interest your kids.

    DVD’s are cool, but this will give them a break from “zoning out” on a flick, and they can use their imagination for awhile. Also afterwards, it gives everyone something to talk about.

    we’ve been going on raod trips since i was really little, and books on tape keep kids quiet. harry potter is really well read, and they probably have it at your local library
