I believe renting is a waste of money. I went to search for an apt to rent and, including water and cable, the one I want comes to $727/month. I would prefer buying a house. What is the price range for a house that will allow me to make $700/month payments? Also I only have $5000 for money down and 2 months to find a house. I wouldn’t like to have a mortgage and I have good credit. Anyone from FL who can help?

My family would like to rent a beach house or condo in Florida or the surrounding states. What are some towns/cities you would suggest. We live in Kentucky and would like somewhere within a one day driving distance. So pretty much anything north of Tampa/Orlando. Preferably under 10 hour drive would be great. Any suggestions or help you can give would be appreciated. Thanks!.

i’m renting a room in a house, and my room seems to be the furthest from the central air conditioner so it barely gets any AC, and i live in tampa florida. I talked to my landlord about installing a window AC, and it’s ok with him. so what do i do? if i went and bought a window AC unit from home depot do i just put it in the window? what kind of work on my part is involved with this kind of thing?
Also, what brand should i be looking for? my price range is $200 max.
