my son wants to visit his friends that he met while we were on vacation. we live in gainesville and they live in northern tampa which is about a 2 hour trip. do you think this is a good idea if i have not met the parents? if it seems fine, then what would be a good way to get him there considering that i cant drive him 2 hours away just to turn around and come back then do it again a few days later? any idvice or suggestions? thanks

I have decided to take a small trip to Tampa, Florida for five days in mid-end April. I land Friday at 4pm. Where are the best places to visit? Cool local stuff I should do? Are there any salsa clubs in Largo or surrounding area?
I have already planned for Discovery Cove in Orlando and Universal Studios, but I don’t know what else I can do that I “won’t want to miss.” Good coffee shops? What should I take that I wouldn’t normally know about since I’ve never been there?

I plan to have a visit to Tampa area after seeing some pretty pictures of Clearwater Beach,..etc…I am likely to spend a long weekend 3 or 4 days there? Which month is the best of the year? Is it a bad idea to visit it for July 4th weekend or Labor Day weekend? Is there going to rain real bad? If I plan to have vacation on beach but end up caught in heavy rains, it would be so bad. Hey, what’s up? I already Google’d this information, but was a bit confused, and was basically looking to stay in Manhattan, New York for a week. Here are soem “cliff notes”:
-Visit from April 7, 2010- April 14, 2010 (or anything close as long as I’m there April 11)
- Stay in a hotel that is comfortable and pretty nice, too.
- Round trip flight tickets
- Best deal I can get
Google got me this so far:
- About $240 for a round trip ticket on those dates from Tampa, Fl to New York City, New York
- Staying at the Hampton in for 6 nights was about $658.
I’m looking to leave Florida for once to a place I’ve always wanted to visit for my birthday. Money isn’t that much of a problem, but would liek best deal I can get and was curious how much food expenses are up there, too. If you could share experiences or knowledge on best deals and places to stay, it’d be highly appreciated. Thanks.

I’m leaving to Tampa in 2 more weeks and this is actually my first time visiting this area. I’m looking for some places with nice scenery and places where I can have a good time with my boyfriend. I am going on a honeymoon on jan on the way back i am gonna visit florida for like 3 days i want to go to a city that is calm and nice people(really important). I am kinda hesistant on Miami because i heard the people aren’t nice but that is just rumors too ….. tampa bay not really sure but i know its close to orlando and has some cool attractions. Miami has the beaches and cool attractions too.
