Anyone know any good attractions around St. Pete (Tampa) Florida area?

I found a Go Kart racing place off of 34th St. and US-19.
I’m still looking to see if there’s any other good places to go for a little birthday party I’m having. There will be about 4-5 people all together.

Any other suggestions on what to do for a birthday party would be great.
I was thinking about camping in my backyard and my friend would bring her little fire pit with her. But we can’t think of anything to do on the next day. I live in Florida… So you can imagine what the weather’s going to be like. :D
I also have 5 younger siblings (under 12) that’ll want to be around us and… I’m sure some people can understand why I’d want to get out of the house and do something fun out of the house. ;D

By the way, my birthday is in just a few days and I’m limited on what days I can have a party cause my family has a lot of birthdays in October. I come from a big family… in case you were wondering. :P

Is Billy Mays from Oxy Clean Ads really dead?

I heard that that guy Billy Mays who did the oxy clean ads on TV was found dead this morning or a few days ago. They say he was 50 years old or something. Is this true? My dad said he heard this on the news and that he was on some plane back to tampa where he lives when all of the sudden a tire on the air craft blew out and caused the plane to loose control and someones luggage fell out of the top compartment hitting billy hard in the head and causing him to pass out where he was then pronounced dead after a while. Is this true?

And if he did die is this really how he died? I will always miss him. he was good and he even had his own tv show (pitchmen). They say his son may have to take over from here. they did reruns all day today in a special marathon on Discovery Channel.

Moving to Tampa?

I want to move to Tampa Florida, I currently live about 2 hours away from Tampa so it’s not going to be such a HUGE change. I just need some advice on how to go about doing it…I’m 18 so obviously I don’t have much money, I’m in college so most of my money goes to tuition and stuff. I know I can get student loans and things like that, but what about the apartment and living expenses? (I don’t want to live in campus by the way). I’m planning on getting a part time job but I don’t think that will be able to pay for everything. I will also be living with someone else so my rent won’t be so much. Do you know any nice areas in Tampa, preferably close to the airport(where I will work) and close to FSU (the college I want to attend)…..any other advice about moving out for the first time?

If you were in complete control of the NHL, how would you change the scheduling/divisions/conference/playoffs?

Also put the teams in order of record you think they would get in the 2010 season (with point total) and (why not?) include your system of playoffs and what you think will happen in the playoffs.

For the record: I know that it is wayyyy too early and completely pointless, but I have nothing to do until 5 when the Wings play :-)

Friend helping me with hotel discount?

I am planning to meet up with a friend in NYC this spring.. I have a friend who works with a certain hotel line that can get me a good deal on the room, but my friends parents want to make sure there is somewhere for them to stay before approving the trip, I am just wondering what kind of proof might be ok since this is kind of under the table type stuff? Any ideas?

Who should I complain to about my stay at the Days Inn hotel?

I recently stayed at the Day Inn in Michigan and made a reservation for a week and it was absolutely horrible. Crackheads everywhere, had to change room three times, couldn’t get a refund, etc. I went on their website and they have a Customer Service number or you can email them. Which do you think would be better to throughly say everything bad that went on at that “hotel”

What are the perks of a US Airways First Class Flight?

So I used my miles to fly first class for once from Monterey, CA to Tampa, FL, with a transition in Phoenix Arizona.

Unfortunately Monterey to Phoenix is US Airways Express (CRJ plane) so no first class even offered, however I got it on a Airbus 320 from Phoenix to Tampa.

So what are the first class perks? Can I literally say I’d like a Jack & Coke, Gin and Tonic, and Heinekin please?

Anyone in the Tampa Bay area know what this is?

This question may seem a little farfetched because it lacks detail, but I’ll give it my best shot. You see, I have a memory of a long time ago when I was a child (about 5 or 6, I’m 17 now btw) of walking down this small street around christmas time. Infact I think it was Christmas eve. Anywho, there was a bunch of really small shops, and most of them were closed because me and my family were walking around really late. I remember it was cold out and we were all bundled up walking down this street just looking at these little shops. I remember this like it was yesterday, I just don’t remember where these shops were… I asked my parents and they said they don’t know it might have been Dade City… but I want to go back to this place this holiday season cause I remembered I loved it as a kid… does anyone have the slightest clue of what shops these may be? They were mostly antique shops if I’m not mistaken. Sorry for the lack of details =P

Whats a good web site on hotels and clubs for singles in Jamaica?

I’m planning to go there next year but I wish I could find a good web site that tells me about hotels and clubs etc. Not that interested in shopping. I’m going alone and plan to stay a week. A little companion while i’m there will also be nice. But I heard some hotels don’t let people that stay, there come in the hotel.

Should I give my opinion??

Don’t ask me why this bothers me sooo much but it does. My niece, who is 20 had a baby 8 wks. ago. She has had a big dose of reality. However, she is constantly asking her mom to baby sit. I told her initially that she should help but not be depended on doing it every time and that her daughter needs to be the responsible parent. She said she had to back off gradually or my niece would freak out. My niece has had problems with the constant crying, calling her mother saying she can’t take all the crying, etc. Well now my sister has the baby EVERY weekend and my niece is going to Tampa for a week’s vacation. Of course, my sister is taking care of the baby. Is it me or is this young girl not dealing with her new responsibility and my sister is enabling her to continue the “single” life. No one in the family says anything – they act like its a joke. Personally I think my sister is setting a bad example of parenting. She has always given in to my niece to avoid a conflict.

Do I need hotel reservations for a trip to Mexico?

I will be traveling in Mexico in the end of May and beginning of June. I plan to visit Puerto Vallarta, Guadalajara, Guanajuato, Dolores Hidalgo, and Mexico City, if that makes a difference. I’m probably going to stay in a low or mid range hotel.

Will I have to spend a lot of time looking for a place to sleep if we don’t have reservations?

Why is the ACC tournament in St Pete/Tampa Bay?

I know money controls college sports now, but the ACC is Maryland to SC, how do they expect the majority of their students and alums to go to these games and then travel again to the NCAA. This ususally was the last games you could go to see your team in a year unless you had money to fly to NCAA games.
I know Miami and Florida State are in the conf. But neither school is in Tampa and all the other schools are in the Maryland/NC area. If you look at where the other confs play their tournaments its always the heart of the conf sites not this far away. The ACC students are some of the stongest fans it seems you would want them at the games. And this is from a non ACC fan so I am not lobbying for those schools just for their fans to be treated better. Not everybody wants to travel to Florida no matter what you think.
