I have decided to take a small trip to Tampa, Florida for five days in mid-end April. I land Friday at 4pm. Where are the best places to visit? Cool local stuff I should do? Are there any salsa clubs in Largo or surrounding area?
I have already planned for Discovery Cove in Orlando and Universal Studios, but I don’t know what else I can do that I “won’t want to miss.” Good coffee shops? What should I take that I wouldn’t normally know about since I’ve never been there?
Thanks for all your help!

beaches, Hard Rock Casino.
You might want to consider going to Busch Gardens instead of the Orlando parks. Busch Gardens is right in Tampa. Also, there is a lot to do in St. Petersburg, which is right there too.

There is too much to do in Tampa. First off your definitley going to want to take some of the boating tours. There is a lot of companys that take groups of people into the Bay. I’ve lived in Tampa my whole life and these tours still don’t get boring. The night life is awesome. There are tons of amazing restaurants and clubs. One place that is really cool is Baywalk. It is an open air mini mall and movie theater and all of the finest restaruants are located near it. Hope you have fun!

Ybor. The old quarter of Tampa. It is a bit rowdy and just dangerous enough to give you a thrill but it is easily accessible to I-4 and your direct route to O-town.
Largo, despite its romantic sounding name, is the white bread cultural center of the west coast of Florida. You may pass through on your way to the beach and that will be sufficient.
Start listening to WMNF 88.5 on the web and get some recommendations for Salsa on o Yo Latino. That station covers all musical genres. Put the call sign in Yahoo search and be amazed.

you should go to Cyprus Gardens. I think its around Winter Haven, but I don’t think it’s too far from Tampa. Cyprus Gardens is a theme park…trust me, it’s FUN!
